Raoul has over a decade of renewable energy experience across renewable energy technologies and countries. Additionally, he has a background in alternative investments, specifically infrastructure, hedge funds, private equity and structured credit.

Most recently, Raoul was Principal Renewable Energy Investments at responsAbility Investments based out of Nairobi. He successfully co-developed responsAbility’s first renewable energy project, the 2.7MW Rwaza hydropower project (Rwanda), and served on the Board of the project company. He was also appointed a seat on the Management Committee of New Africa Power, a joint venture between Norfund, responsAbility and Renewable Energy Holdings to develop a 75MW portfolio of hydropower projects in Zambia.

Before working at responsAbility, Raoul was Director at renewable energy investment boutique- Voltiq. At Voltiq, he provided advisory services serving an extensive range of clients across the globe. Raoul is currently a Senior Advisor to Voltiq.

Dirk-Jan has over a decade of experience as strategic advisor and project lead across various industries and countries.

Most recently at HelloFresh (Europe’s fastest growing scale up), Dirk-Jan was the strategic advisor to the management team of the Benelux and France.

Dirk-Jan has also advised various boards of multinationals and NGOs on strategy, implementation and recommendations whilst working at Deloitte Consulting. His clients have included PostNL (the largest post and parcel provider of the Netherlands) during their post-merger integration strategy and War Child (an NGO active in various African countries) in redesigning their grant funding administration.

Dirk-Jan holds a Master of Science (cum laude) in Economics & Business from the Erasmus School of Economics.

Ngoni Mutingwende has over a decade of experience in the finance, audit and energy sector in respect to development, licensing, and regulatory matters in the energy sector.

Previously, Ngoni was an Auditor at PWC, thereafter a Financial Analyst for the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA). At Umoya Energy, a subsidiary of Bazaruto Renewables, Ngoni is managing the project development activities of Umoya’s wind energy portfolio in Zimbabwe.

Ngoni holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Gloucestershire (United Kingdom), holds the ACCA and CIMA qualifications, and is currently recognised as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Sherick joined Bazaruto in January 2021 and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Previously, she worked in various technical positions at Schneider Electric, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, and Huawei Technologies.

Sherick holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi.

Cyprian joined Bazaruto in June 2023 and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Previously, he worked in various environmental & social positions at UNEP – Children and Youth, Devlink Resources Consultants, ESF Consultants, The Catholic Youth Network for Environmental Sustainability in Africa (CYNESA), and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) of Kenya.

Cyprian holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Environmental Science from Rongo University.

Kefas joined Bazaruto in May 2022 as Finance Analyst and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Previously, he worked in auditing positions at Mazars, Watu Credit, PDM (Kenya), and Kang’ea & Associates.

Kefas holds a Bachelor of Business Management (First Class Honours) in Accounting from Maasai Mara University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K).

Sharon joined Bazaruto in January 2024 as Legal Analyst and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Previously, she assumed legal positions at the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) of Kenya, Mukele Moni & Company Advocates, Lutta Antoninnah & Company Advocates, and the Judiciary-Thika Law Courts.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Laws from Moi University School of Law, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Certificate Course in Global Energy and Climate Policy from the University of London

Brian worked at Bazaruto Renewables from August 2021, and significantly contributed to the progress of Bazaruto’s project portfolio. Most recently, he serves as a technical (civil engineering) advisor to Bazaruto.

Brian currently works at Industrial Promotion Services (IPS), the industrial development arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), as a Senior Business Development Officer. Previously, he worked in various technical positions at KPMG, Egis Group, and Nairobi County Government.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Civil Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology (JKUAT). He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Energy Technology from JKUAT.
